My name is Allyson Rail. I am a 16-year-old Grade 10 French Immersion student attending Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby, ON. I have been dancing since the age of 3 and am very involved in extracurricular activities at school such as the Model UN, the Sinclair Dance Company, Durham Integrated Arts Camp and the Sinclair Leadership Camp. I am also an active and passionate volunteer. I have a part-time cashier’s job at a local restaurant and am currently working towards my last National Life Saving Society credentials in the hopes of working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. I have two parents, two brothers and two dogs. I love to spend time at my cottage in eastern Ontario and I love to travel, meet new people and try new things. My favorite subject is English and I love to be creative and express myself in various ways through writing, dancing and drama. I have a great family and many friends who are very supportive of me and with whom I enjoy spending time. I have been fortunate to receive several awards in recognition of my dance, as well as the Model UN Outstanding Delegate, the Drama and Dance Award, the Citizenship Award, as well as the Principle’s Award in elementary school. I am team oriented, empathetic, enjoy public speaking and my favorite food is mashed potatoes. I have travelled to South Carolina, Florida, Dominican Republic and New York City and can’t wait to see the rest of the world.
Allyson will be entering Grade 11 in September 2014
